Use this window to get an overview and maintain information on employee working hours. The window operates in two modes:
The Week mode operating the employees' schedules and rules assignment information. Each block in the Gantt represents a row in the Employee Schedule and Rules window.
In Week mode the block consists of two parts. The upper half is built from the week type information entered in the schedule details. The intervals and their colors are retrieved based on this information, and is presented in the upper half.
The lower half gets its color based on the shift that is entered in the Employee Schedule and Rules window. That is, the lower half gives information about the shift to which the employee belongs.
Note: A Day-by-Day schedule representation is built in the similar way. The difference is that a Day-by-Day schedule does not allow you to enter a Shift in the Employee Schedule and Rules window. Therefore, the lower half of the bar will always have the same default color for these types of schedules.
In the day mode, each day in the graph is represented by a day type. The day type is derived from the employee's schedule, including the substitute schedule data. This is the same information as on the Base Schedule tab in the Employee Deviation Days window.
An overlapping day type represents a deviation day in this mode. The deviations are derived from the:
The Temporary Day Type field in the Time Card-Day window.
The Deviation Days tab in the Employee Deviation Days window.
Deviation cycle information in the Employee Deviation Cycles window.
The priority is in the 1-2-3 order.
When the user enters a day type using the drag-and-drop operation, the information is always entered on the Employee Deviation Days/Deviation Days tab.
Scheduling is done either in the day mode or week mode. The mode is selected from the right mouse button options. The day mode uses the day type, while the week mode uses the schedule cycle as the building block.
The window contains three areas, the drag-and-drop object area, the employee table area, and the Gantt area.
Drag and drop objects: This area presents the cycle schedules or the day types depending on the current mode. The Week mode displays only cycle schedules and the Day mode only day types. The user drags the appropriate object from this area into the Gantt area.
Employee table: By default, this area displays the direct sub-ordinate employees (one level below in the position hierarchy) controlled by the standard position access. The user can select which employees to display in the window using the query dialog box (F3).
Gantt: The Gantt area represents the weeks or the dates for the selected interval. You can toggle between the week and day mode using the right mouse button options. Place the mouse over the object to see the schedule or day type ID.
