Serial Structure Information/Access

Usage

Use this tab to view all the access groups assigned to the selected serial part. The Has Access check box is selected for the access groups currently granted for the serial. The information on this tab can only be updated for serials that are disconnected from a structure and for the topmost serial of a structure. You can update the information on this tab through the use of the following right mouse button options,

• Revoke Access Group for Serial - Clears the Has Access check box, and thereby denies access to the selected access group, by the new serial.
• Grant Access Group for Serial - Selects the Has Access check box, and thereby grants access to the selected access group, by the new serial.                 

If the selected serial is access controlled, only the users assigned to the access groups for which the Has Access check box is selected can view or update information on the serial. If this tab does not contain any information, the serial is not access controlled, and all the users can view and update the serial. Note: Only serials in IFS/Vehicle Information Management can be access controlled.

The selected serial will receive the access groups assigned to the template structure to which the serial belongs. The access groups for the template structure is defined in the Spread Access Rights to Parts and Serials dialog box. Therefore, this tab will be updated with the access groups assigned to the template structure to which the serial belongs.
