My Links

Using this Portlet

Use this portlet to create a list of the IFS Applications pages that you frequently work with.  If you select "Save Link" from the "Options" menu while working with pages, then a link to that page is added to the Repository of links. My Links portlet can be configured to show the required links from this repository. This option could be very useful if you work with a lot of different pages. Then two (or more) My Links portlets can be added with different links shown in each. For example having one for daily routines and one for Weekly/monthly routines.

Prerequisites

No setup is required before you use this portlet for the first time, except your personal customizations (see below).

Viewing the Search Results

The search results, your selected links, appear as a list in this portlet.

Customizing this Portlet

Using the Customize page, you can define search criteria and customize the layout of your portlet.

Adding new links

New links can be added to the portlet as well as to the link repository from the customization page. The "Link repository" select box displays all available links in the repository. You can move any desired links from this select box to the right select box (which contains links selected for this portlet) using the right arrow.

New links which are not available in the repository can also be added. Click "add link" and enter the "URL" and "Description" for it in the newly opened window. When adding links by hand try to follow the standard given below as examples. If you have included Context Substitution Variables in your URL, by enabling the Decode CSV Parameters check box, you have the option of decoding them when the link is shown in the portlet.

web based links
http://cmbgseapp1.corpnet.ifsworld.com:63080/b2ben/secured/Default.page - (Starting with "http://"  followed by the web address)

Local links
file://cmbgseapp3/region/sample.xls - (Starting with "file://"  followed by the file path separated by "/")

Editing links can be done in a similar manner by clicking "Edit Link". Order of the selected links can be changed with Up & Down arrows.
By clicking  at "Modify repository" a new window will be opened, where you can Edit, Add new & Delete links saved in the repository.

Setting a title

You can set the title of the portlet, by entering a title at title box. If  the check box "Show contents of this portlet in the navigate menu" is checked then portlet links will be displayed in the Navigate menu under the same title.

Showing links

All Links available in the right side box are displayed in the portlet.
