Report Used Tools and Facilities

Explanation

This activity is used to report time for each planned tool or facility on the work order. Enter the number of reported hours in the Report Hours field. The reported hours are then added to the value in the Reported Hours field. Every time you report tools and facilities, a posting line with the cost type Tools/Facilities will be created.

Prerequisites

Tools and facilities must be planned on the work order prior to reporting time on each tool/facility.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the tool and facility costs on the work order are updated. The tool and facility costs are displayed in the Actual Costs field on the Budget tab.

Procedure

Using the Single Page Report In Work Order window:

  1. Open the Single Page Report In Work Order window.
  2. Query for the work order (F3).
  3. In the Resources table, enter values in the Hours field for the relevant tools/facilities entered in the Prepare Work Order window.
  4. Save the record (F12).

Using the Report In Work Order window:

  1. Open the Report In Work Order window, click the Tools and Facilities tab and and create a new record.
  2. In the Tool/Facility ID field, use the List of Values to enter a tool or facility ID.
  3. In the Quantity field, specify the quantity of the tool or facility used for the work order.
  4. In the Report Hours field, specify the number of hours used. These hours are then added to the value in the Reported Hours field. Save the information.
