Use this window to search and allocate employees and or tools/facilities to work orders. The window can be accessed from Active Work Orders, Active Routes or from the header in Service Request, Prepare Work Order, Report in Route. The window is also accessible for operations from the Job/Operations tab or the Operations tab in Service Request or the Prepare Work Order or for Tools & Facilities from the Tools & Facilities tab . When the window is opened it gets pre-populated with suitable resources according to the resource requirements of the Work Order/Operation/Tools/Facility Line. It is possible to alter the search parameters in the window to search for additional or reduced resource requirements.
The user can adjust the appearance of the Gantt chart and the information shown, by expanding or collapsing timescale of the Gantt Chart, or through various options available from the Settings tab available from the Search button.
The Gantt window has these graphical features:
Allocations are represented by bars,
Allocations with Symbols and Summary Bars,
Resource Type: Indicates the current Resource Type to allocate. Use the dropdown to toggle between Employees and Tool/Facilities to allocate the different resource demands from the Work Order or Operation.
Operation No: Indicates the current operation or "All" operations when it is possible to allocate all operations to one single Employee. Use the dropdown to select the operations one by one in order to allocate the different resource demands from the Work Order.
Various information is displayed about the selected Work Order and/or Operation in the header of the Allocate Resource dialog. Operation Job ID, Work Order Execution Time, Operation Planned Hours, Operation or Work Order Planned Resources.
Finally the Search criteria of the pre-populated is also displayed in the header and also in the bottom of the dialogue to the left:
Show All: Indicates whether whether the "Show All" checkbox was active when the search was conducted or not. If this check box was selected, the search result will display all the employees that satisfy the search parameters regardless of whether the employees are already allocated to other work during the search interval and would not have time to perform the work. This is especially useful if there are no available employees, and you would like to find employees with suitable skills that can be re-planned to work on higher prioritized jobs first.
Exclude Schedule: Indicates whether whether the "Exclude Schedule" checkbox was active when the search was conducted or not. If this check box was selected, existing schedules of the resource was excluded, i.e., the resources was considered to be available 24/7 when the search was conducted.
Ignore Constraints: Indicates whether whether the "Ignore Constraints" checkbox was active when the search was conducted or not. If this check box was selected, existing date constraints on the work order was excluded when the search was conducted.
