Use this window to obtain an overview of all serial parts in IFS/Vehicle Information Management (IFS/VIM). New serial parts are generated automatically for each engineering part (in IFS/PDM-Configuration) that is defined as a serialized part. This window can also be used to define the life limit value for the serial and whether it is a vehicle part.
The following table shows the right mouse button options which are available in this window:
| Right Mouse Button Option | Description |
| Copy Engineering Parts | If you have been using IFS/PDM-Configuration for sometime prior to installing IFS/VIM, you can select this option to copy existing engineering parts; thereby initiating the automatic creation of serial parts. |
| Manage Serial Number Generation | Select this option to modify the serial number prefix and/or the base serial number of the part. |
| Update Life Limit | Select this option to update the part's life limit from '-' to Life Limited for all template structure entries (i.e., child parts). Note: This option is only enabled for Life Limited serial parts that contain defined template information. |
