Usage

Use this window and its tabs to view or maintain information for a particular serial structure. All information related to the serial structure is registered here (i.e., the items and serials for a structure). In order to update information for the serials in the structure, these serials must contain unique serial numbers.

The graphical object structure shown in this window can be used to view the selected serial and its structure. This allows for easier navigation to the correct branch of the structure. Each item in the structure is shown as one line of text, which provides the part number, part revision, part description and serial number. If empty structure positions exist in the structure, these will be shown with a red X icon followed by the structure position, Not Installed text, prime part number, prime part revision and prime part description. A plus sign indicates that a serial has an underlying structure. In this graphical object structure you can:

From this window, you can choose a number of right mouse button options. Some options are only available when the operational status for the serial structure is In Operation or Out Of Operation. Furthermore, certain options require the structural item to contain a defined serial number. If the functionality for Access Control is used, you can select the Spread Access Rights to Serials option to extend access rights to the serials of a selected top serial. In addition, the Change Maintenance Program option can be selected when you need to change the maintenance program. (Maintenance programs along with maintenance groups determine the maintenance plan most suitable for a serial.)

If the part has an assigned serial number, you can connect documents and characteristics to the serial via Documents in the Attachments. When you delete a serial, the connection to attached documents and characteristics will be removed, although the documents themselves are not deleted from the system.

For the description of each tab in the window, follow the appropriate link: General, Additional Serial Info, Part Serial Catalog, Vehicle, Consist Of, Multilevel, Template Structure, Approval, Access, Serial History.
