Working With the Analysis Panel
Explanation
This activity is used to add, configure, view, refresh, zoom to a specified
location and to remove analysis panel components to selected
window and to configure already entered analysis panel components.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity:
- You must have access to Microsoft Reporting Services.
- At least one quick report of MS_REPORT type must exist in the system and you must have
access to them.
If the quick report has parameters, the selected window should have matching
data fields to fetch parameter values.
- Transactions must exist in the system to populate data to the window to which you plan to add an analysis panel
component.

information can be viewed as required

Configure Analysis Panel Component
Procedure
To add an analysis panel component:

Populate a selected window with header and detail sections to which you want
to add an analysis panel component.

To add an analysis panel component to analyze header section information,
move the cursor to a data field in the header section and click Add
in the analysis panel to open the Configure Analysis Panel Control
dialog box. If you want to add an analysis panel component to
analyze detail section data, make sure to move the cursor to the detail
section.
- In the Report tab of the dialog box, select the quick report
you want to add as the analysis panel component. The Log-in
Information for Reporting Services dialog box might open (depending on the authentication method that is set for Microsoft Reporting Services). Enter the user ID you use to log
into Reporting Services in the User field, password in the
Password field and domain in the Domain ID field. Click OK.
- Click on the Properties tab.
- Enter the URL which can be used to view related reports and web links of
the analysis panel component in the Zoom-In URL field.
- Enter a title for the analysis panel component in the Title field
if required. (Note: If the quick report you selected as the analysis
panel component already has a title, both that title as well as the title
you enter here will be displayed.
- Enter a description of the analysis panel component in the
Description field.
- Click on the Parameters tab. The parameters of the quick
report you selected as the analysis panel component will be displayed with
suggested data field names/references. Modify the values of the parameters if required. You can use
the List of Values to select appropriate values or enter them manually.
- Click OK to save the information.
To configure an analysis panel component:
- Open a window with one or more analysis panel components connected to
it.
- Right-click on the analysis panel component and click Configure
to open the Configure Analysis Panel Component dialog box.
- Select a different quick report in the Report tab if
required.
- Modify the values entered in the Properties tab as
required.
- Modify the values entered in the Parameters tab as
required.
- Click OK to save the changes.
To refresh an analysis panel component:
- Open a window with one or more analysis panel components connected to
it.
- Right-click on the analysis panel component you want to refresh and
click Refresh.
To zoom:
- Open the window with the analysis panel component you want to zoom from.
- Right-click on the analysis panel component you want to refresh and
click Zoom In.
Note: In order to zoom in, the relevant URL must be specified in the Configure Analysis Panel Control/Properties
tab.
To open an analysis panel component in a new window:
- Open the window with the analysis panel component you want to view in a
separate window.
- Right-click on the analysis panel and then click Open in New Window.
A new window would open enabling you to view an enlarged version of the
analysis panel component.
To remove an analysis panel component:
- Open the window with the analysis panel component you want to remove.
- Right-click on the analysis panel component you want to refresh and
click Remove.
- A message will appear asking you whether you want to remove the analysis
panel component. Click Yes to confirm.
