Enter Tax Book Structures
Explanation
Use this activity to specify a query and reporting structure for tax books. You can define different structure levels and nodes so that you can aggregate information from several tax books and provide a hierarchical summation of tax books in queries and reports.
Prerequisites
The tax books that will be used in the structure must be entered in the system before you can perform this activity. Tax books are entered in the
Tax Books window in IFS/Accounting Rules.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, you can group information from various tax books when creating tax reports.

Procedure
- Open the Tax Book Structure window.
- Create a new record, and enter the identity and the
description for the structure.
- Click the
Levels tab. Specify the structure levels by starting with the top level.
- Click the
Nodes tab. Enter the nodes, starting with the top node level. Specify the structure levels for each node.
- Click the
Tax Books tab. Enter the tax books to be included in this structure, and connect them to a node.
- Click the
View Structure tab. Select the levels that you want to display. The layout is displayed automatically in the
Structure Layout field. Note that in this tab, you can drag and drop a node to add another level, or you can drag and drop code parts to add another node. When you do this, the system also will change the appropriate values in the Levels and Nodes tabs to correctly match your changes to the graphical structure in this tab. The drag and drop operation can be performed either by dragging an object and dropping it onto a node or by using the cut and paste operation. You cannot use the copy and paste operation because nodes or code part values cannot be duplicated in the structure.
