Create Valuation
Explanation
This activity is used to create a valuation for a sub contract. If any
previous valuation exists for the selected sub contract, valuation values or
certified values will be copied automatically as valuation values to the newly
created valuation. For more information, refer the activity description Copy
Previous Valuation.
The currency, unique project and billing sequence of the item
is used to create a unique valuation. Billing sequence is a
numeric value that you can assign to items that you wish to be grouped together
when you create the valuation. Example:

Prerequisites
- The sub contract should exist in either the Awarded, Under Review,
Active or Completed status.
- A sub contract revision in the Active status should exist.
System Effects
- A valuation is created in the Planned status.
- A snapshot of the sub contract line and sub contract line item information is
copied to the valuation.

Procedure
Use this procedure to create a valuation from the
Sub
Contract window or the
Sub Contracts window:
- Open the relevant window and query (F3) for the sub contract from which a
valuation is to be created.
- Right-click and then click Create Valuation.
- Save (F12) the newly created valuation.
Use this procedure to create a valuation from the
Sub
Contract Valuation window:
- Create a new record (F5).
- In the Contract No field, enter the sub contract number. Use the
List of Values to select a valid value.
- Once the sub contract is entered, information on this sub contract will be
copied to the valuation. If a previous valuation exists for that sub
contract, the previous valuations will also be copied.
- Save the record (F12).
Use this procedure to create a valuation from the
Manage Sub Contract Items window:
- Query for the contract and select the line item in
the table below to create the valuation.
- Right-click and select the Create Valuation
menu option.
- If there are other line items in the contract that
have the same currency, unique project and billing sequence
as the one you selected above all of these items will be included in the
valuation.
