Add Project Activity to Sub Contract
Explanation
Project activities can be used to execute/perform work
on a sub contract. Therefore, project activities can be connected to line items
of a sub contract. However, only one activity can be defined as the default
activity for a sub contract. This default activity will be used to report cost
from all the items that have not been connected to an activity.
Prerequisites
- The sub contract header and line items should exist.
- The project should belong to the same company as
the sub contract.

Procedure
- Open the
Sub Contract window and query (F3) for the
required sub contract.
- Click the
Projects tab and create a new record (F5).
- If you have already added a project, use the List
of Values to add an activity in the Activity ID field. If not, enter
the project in the Project ID field and then the activity. You can
use the List of Values to select a valid project and activity.
- Alternatively, you can directly add an activity in
the Activity ID field in the Sub
Contract/Lines/Items/Items tab, along with the project. The project
and activity will be updated in the Projects
tab.
- If you have added only one activity it will be set
the default automatically. If not, select the project activity line in the
Projects tab, right-click and select Set
as Default.
- Save the information (F12).
