Enter Return Material Reason

Explanation

In this tab window, you can enter return material reason codes. Return material reason codes are used for handling customer returns of delivered parts. A return material reason describes the customers reason to return the part. For every return reason, you also can enter a description and inspection information. The inspection information is a description of how to inspect the material with the current return reason, when it is received from the customer.

There are no particular prerequisites.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, a return material reason is defined. The defined return material reason will be one of the alternatives you can access when you enter and are handling returned material from customers. The short code for the return material reason will be available in the List of Values, e.g., in Return Material Authorization.

Procedure

1. Select the Return Material Reasons tab, and then select New.
2. Enter the short code for the return reason in the Return Reason column.
3. Enter a description of the current return reason in the Return Reason Description column.
4. Enter inspection information in the Inspection Info column.
5. Save.
