Specify Acquisition Value Level

Explanation

Even though customer-owned stock in your inventory is not part of your inventory valuation, there may be a need to maintain records about how much parts are worth according to their owners. Use this activity to indicate that acquisition values are to be maintained for parts in customer-owned stock belonging to a specific customer. You also will specify the level of detail at which the acquisition values are to be stored for the customer, i.e., per part, lot/batch, or serial.

When parts are received into inventory as customer-owned stock owned by this customer, their acquisition value will be stored on the specified level, if possible.

Procedure

  1. Open the Customer window.
  2. Query for the required customer.
  3. Click the Order tab, and then click the General sub-tab.
  4. In the Customer Owned Stock group box, select the desired acquisition value level from the Acq Value Level list.
  5. Save the record.
