Enter Discount Type

Explanation

Use this activity to enter potential discount types and their corresponding default discount rates. Discount type identifies the type of discount that is entered on an order line. This enables a detailed control of the different types of discounts that are used. This is particularly useful when you are using multiple discounts for an order line, i.e., a combination of several different types of discounts.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• A discount type is created and is available for use throughout the customer order flow.
• The discount type will be one of the alternatives available from the List of Values in other windows, e.g., Customer, Sales Price List, Customer Agreement.

Procedure

1. Open the Sales Basic Data window.
2. Click the Sales Discount Types tab, and create a new record.
3. Enter the short code for the discount type in the Discount Type column.
4. Enter a description of the discount type in the Description column.
5. Enter the default discount percentage rate in the Discount % column.
6. Save the record.
