Define Control Plan Template Lines

Explanation

Each control plan template consists of two levels: a header and one or more lines. This activity is used to create new control plan template lines.

For each control plan template line, the sample size has to be calculated when an analysis is created. To calculate the sample size, an inspection code has to be defined. The inspection type specifies whether the sample size is based on a fixed quantity or a sample percentage of the order size. It is not possible to use Percentage as the inspection type for parts that are used as a production schedule parts.

Prerequisites

System Effects

As a result of this activity, one or more control plan template lines are created. The inspection code selected in the control plan line, will control the sample size for each data point when the analyses are created. The inspection code selected in the control plan line will control the sample size for each data point when the analyses are created.

  9. Enter the Norm Type, or use the List of Values to choose from the available norm types. This is a required field.
  10. Enter information in the Machine/Process/Tool, Process Characteristic, Product Characteristic, and Special Characteristic Classification fields, if appropriate.
  11. Enter information about the tolerance limits in the Outer Min, Inner Min, Nominal Value, Inner Max and Outer Max fields. The nominal value is required.
  12. Enter information in the Evaluation Measurement Technique field, if appropriate.
  13. Select Attributes or Variables in the Data Type list.
  14. Enter an Inspection Code or select one from the List of Values.
  15. Enter information in the Sample Frequency and Control Method fields.
  16. Enter information in the Reaction Plan and Notes fields.
  17. Save when complete.
