Define Sample frequency trigger

Explanation

Use this activity to define which trigger types will be used for a specific control plan template or control plan. There are predefined trigger types in the Trigger Type list.

Triggers can only be entered, modified, or deleted as long as the control plan template or control plan is in the Created status. 

Prerequisites

The control plan template or control plan must be in the Created status.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the defined triggers can be connected to data points. Analyses will be created automatically, depending on the defined sample frequency triggers.

Define sample frequency

Procedure

  1. Open the Control Plan - Manufacturing window, and click the Sample Frequency Trigger tab.
  2. Click the Define sub tab. 
  3. Create a new record by clicking New.
  4. Enter a description in the Trigger Description field. Entering a value in this field is required.
  5. Select a trigger type from the Trigger Type list.
  6. If the trigger type is Time Interval, enter a number in the Value field and select a value from the Unit of Measure list. The possible values are Minutes, Hours, Days, and Months.
  7. Save the information. 

Note: The sample frequency triggers can also be defined in the Control Plan Template or Control Plan - Purchasing window. The Acceptance Sampling trigger is defined and connected automatically when the acceptance sampling inspection code is used.
