Transfer Part to Inventory

Explanation

Use the menu option Transfer Inventory Part to make a part become an Inventory part at the site specified for the delivery project.

Prerequisites

• A template part must exist in IFS Distribution for the project. See Project Delivery Basic Data/Inventory Part Template for how to create a template part.
• The part cannot exist as an Inventory Part at the specified site.

System Effects

The part is created in IFS/Inventory at the specified site and all data from the template is copied to the new inventory part, excluding Part Number, Part Description, and Unit of Measure, which are copied from the Part Catalog.

If the part or project item has calculated project roll up cost as described in Project Item/Cost, then this cost is also transferred to IFS/Inventory.
