Issue from Inventory to Project

Explanation

Use this function to issue a quantity of a part from inventory. Issuing can be done either manually or automatically. It is possible to issue already reserved material and/or issue material directly from the location without having prior reservations.

When the Std Planned Item flag is checked and issuing is done manually, the Issue From Inventory dialog box will display only the standard inventory records that are available for issuing. However, if the flag is unchecked, the dialog box will display only the project inventory records which are available for issuing. Project inventory belonging to other projects will not be displayed.
 

Prerequisites

• A miscellaneous demand line must exist.
• The quantity of the part to be issued from inventory must exist in an inventory location for the site.
• The activity must be in status Released.

System Effects

• The material is issued.
• The Issued Quantity and Issued Date are updated in the miscellaneous demand line.
• Quantity on hand for the part is updated, i.e., the amount of the part is reduced.
• An inventory transaction for each location is created in Inventory. These transactions are posted with information from the Project/Project PrePosting window.

Procedure

1. Select the part to issue.
2. Select the menu option Issue or Issue manually. If issuing manually, the Issue From Inventory dialog box will appear. In the dialog box, enter the quantity to issue from the preferred inventory location then click OK.

Note: If IFS/Project Reporting is used you have the option of selecting the Propose Project Transaction check box in the Project window, which will enable the Create Project Transaction dialog box to appear. Enter a valid report code in this dialog box that has report code type Material and then click OK to create a project transaction for the material issue. This dialog box is available to the user from right mouse button menu on project miscellaneous demand regardless of this checkbox.
