Create Project from Customer Order

Explanation

Use this function to create a project from a customer order. When a project is created from a customer order, it is automatically connected to the customer order header. The other way of doing this is by connecting an existing project to the customer order. This is done by entering the Project ID on the Customer Order/References tab. The prerequisites given below also apply for this way of connection.

Note: Customer order lines can also be manually connected to project activities (refer to the activity Connect Existing Object to Activity).

Procedure

  1. Query the required customer order, or create a new one.
  2. Click the menu option Create Project, then follow the steps in the wizard.

Note: The wizard will return most of the customer order data (currency, company, customer, and site) by default . If these values are changed and conflict with any of the above prerequisites, a project or project connection will not be created.
