Change Exchange Components, Purchase Order
Explanation
Use this activity to change the part number of a connected, unserviceable (exchange) component part. You will be sending
this unserviceable part to the supplier in exchange for a serviceable part. (The unserviceable part is also called the exchange
component part.)
Prerequisites
- The purchase order line must have been entered and saved.
- The part on the order line must use condition codes, and the quantity on the order line must be 1.
- The unserviceable (exchange) part must have been entered as both a sales part and an alternate part to the part on the order line.
- The unserviceable (exchange) part must have been connected to the purchase order line. If a customer order is created, it should be before Pick List created for the customer order line.
System Effects
The unserviceable component part connected to the purchase order line will be changed.
If the purchase order is already released, and a customer is automatically created, the existing customer order line will be
cancelled and a new customer order line will be inserted for the changed, unserviceable (exchange) part.
