Enter Lead Time Information

Explanation

Use this function to specify a lead time and a lead time code for inventory parts in the inventory part register. This information controls how a part is processed when it is in demand. You calculate manufacturing lead times for parts automatically in  Lead Time Calculation. However, you should manually check the lead time, as you might need to add a safety margin for lot sizes or other factors.

System Effects

The lead time code, in conjunction with other attributes, determines whether a shop proposal, purchase requisition, or production schedule is created to fulfill the demand for the part. If a shop order requisition is created, the lead time dictates the start and due dates of the requisition.
