Add DOP Branch
Explanation
Use this activity to add a DOP structure branch for a specific
DOP order. The new DOP structure branch can either be created from BOM or copied from
another DOP structure.
Prerequisites
- The Create Pegged attribute for the DOP order must
be set to Pegged Orders.
- When the parent DOP order is released, the status
of its supply shop order must be Planned, Released or Reserved.
- Pegged purchase orders must not exist.
System Effects
As a result of this activity:
- A DOP branch is added to the
DOP structure. The status of the DOP orders are set to Unreleased. The
Structure
Changed check box is selected for the specific DOP order and the DOP header.
If the parent DOP order is Released, a new component is added to its supply shop
orders.
- If the DOP order in consideration is project specific
the new DOP branch added will be tagged with Project ID and Activity Sequence.
- When you create a DOP structure, any intermediate steps in the
structure are deleted. Parts with planning methods K and P, Blow through and Phantom parts,
are considered intermediate steps.
- If a DOP order is serial-effective, the breaking-down stops at the DOP order
level and a log is created. The log is displayed in
DOP Logs.
If you have allowed an automatic release of DOP orders, higher levels in the structure are
not released.
- When creating a DOP structure which includes a phantom part, the DOP
order is created for the phantom part if there is enough inventory to
fulfill the order. Phantom parts are needed to net as and when the DOP order
is created to avoid material shortages in the future.
- If adding a DOP structure from BOM, a valid routing revision and
a plannable or buildable routing alternative are added for each DOP order. If no
buildable or plannable routing alternative exists for the part, a DOP log is created;
however, the creation of the structure continues. If copying a DOP structure from another
DOP structure, the routing revision and routing alternative are
copied to each DOP order. If the routing is serial-effective and no serial numbers
are reserved for the DOP order, a DOP log is created; however, the creation of the
structure continues.
- When creating the new DOP structure from BOM the revised due date
and the revised start date are calculated for each added DOP order in the structure,
depending on revised due date and revised start date of the parent DOP order, lead-time
and lead-time offset, where the lead-time is depending on lot size and
routing revision and alternative.
