Analyze Historical Data
Explanation
This activity is used to view historical records, analyze them statistically and
make references and/or decisions for a particular vehicle or serial part. Here, you can analyze the entries in order to assist you for
the registration of new records or as an improvement for existing data.
Historical data will be recorded when the related
prerequisites are fulfilled.
The purpose of collecting historic data is to be able
to document the maintenance that has been performed on a serial part, and use
this in order to improve the live data in IFS Applications. For example,
the
Serial Order History window contains the actual performed
operations and consumed material for all performed maintenance. This data can be
used in order to improve the contents of the
Instruction window
so that the operations and material lists that are no longer used can be
removed, and new operations and materials added. Another way of using the
historic data might be to analyze faults that have been repaired on a serial and
by means of this be able to know how to repair similar faults.

Prerequisites
- Changes must have been performed on an active serial
structure template before historical data (journal) can be viewed.
- To view replacement history, a component must first
be connected, disconnected or replaced in a serial structure.
- A serial number must be changed for a serial part
before identification history can be viewed.
- A serial transportation route must have been
completed to view information on serial route history.
- To view vehicle condition history the vehicle
condition of a vehicle must have been changed.
- Condition monitoring must have been performed on a
serial part before condition limit history can be viewed.
- A modification must have been performed on a serial
part to view modification history.
- An interval based maintenance must have been
performed on a serial part before interval maintenance history can be
viewed.
- A fault on a serial part must have been repaired to
view fault history.
- To view entries in the Additional Fault
Information window,
additional fault information must have been
registered on non-serialized parts.
- To view non routine history, there must exist non
routine faults that were reported on the work order/work order operation
that is
included in a work package for a maintenance visit. These non routine faults
must have been repaired.
- A maintenance task must have been performed on a
serial part. The information here will be recorded as generic history and
has specific entries for each task type.
- To view task cancellation history a running
maintenance task or the corresponding work order must have been cancelled.
- Operational log entries must have been performed on
a serial part before operational logging history can be viewed.
- An operational event must have been removed from a
vehicle to view the operational planning history.
- To view historical maintenance order information,
a maintenance order with connected tasks must have been completed.
- To view historical flight log information, the
closed or voided flight log must have been moved to history.
- To view historical post maintenance check information, the post
maintenance check task must have been completed.

Procedure
Follow this procedure to analyze historical data for a
serial part.
- Open the History per
Serial window and query (F3) for the necessary serial.
- Select the appropriate tab that corresponds to the
history you want to analyze for a specific purpose.
Follow this procedure to view and analyze details on completed maintenance
tasks:
- Open the
Serial Order History window and query (F3) for the
necessary serial.
- Select the tab(s) that illustrates the data
you want to analyze for a specific purpose. Observe
the following examples:
- The Signatures tab can be used
to view information on the sign offs performed on the maintenance task.
- The Operations/Material
sub tab can be used
when you want to view information on the material
used on the operations (instructions or subtasks) connected to the
maintenance tasks.
- If the
serial's unit of measure (UoM) is different to the UoM of the site at which the
work was executed, automatic UoM conversions are performed when a task
(with material lines) is distributed and when material is reported back
to the task. You can use this tab to view the consumed material
quantities in accordance with the UoM on the different sites.
Follow this procedure to change the operational
parameter values for a completed task/work order.
- Open one of the following windows and query (F3) for
the information you want to change operational parameters on.

List
- Right-click and click Details, to view a window with more
details. Click the
Oper Param tab.

Serial Order History/Operational Parameter
tab.
- Right-click on the table of the tab and click Change
Operational Values. The
Change Operational Values dialog
box appears.
- Enter the new values you want in the Value After
Overhaul and Value Total fields. Note: The new values
entered here are required to be greater than or equal to the previous log
value for the serials and smaller than or equal to the next log value of the
serial.
- Click OK.
Follow this procedure to remove obsolete history entries:
- Open the
History per Serial window or the
Operational Planning History List window, query (F3) for the required
part number.
- If you have selected the
History per Serial window, click
the
Operational Plan tab.
- Right-click and click Remove History. A message will appear warning
you that all history records up to the given date will be removed. Click YES.
- The
Remove Old History Entries dialog box will open.
- If necessary, update the date given in the Remove Entries Up Until Date
field.
- Click OK.
Follow this procedure to view and/or analyze historical
maintenance orders:
- Open the Maintenance Order
History List window.
- Populate (F2) or query (F3) for the necessary
maintenance order.
- Right-click on the row, and then click Details.
The Maintenance Order History window opens with data on the
selected maintenance order.
- Navigate to the different tabs to view additional
information on the historical maintenance order.
Follow this procedure to view the snapshots of a
maintenance order:
- Open the Maintenance Order Snapshot
window and query (F3) for the necessary maintenance order.
- Observe the data in the window and connected tabs.
- You can right-click on an operation in the
Operations tab, and then click Instructions to view
additional information in the instruction.
Follow this procedure to view and/or analyze historical
flight logs:
- Open the Flight Log History List
window and populate (F2) or query (F3) for the relevant flight log number
and/or serial.
- Right-click on the record and then click
Details. The Flight Log History window opens with information on the selected flight
log.
- Navigate to the different tabs to view additional
information on the historical flight log.
