Create Standard Job Revision

Explanation

Use this activity to create a new standard job revision.

A standard job in use i.e. connected to a PM action or work order can be updated, but with restrictions. Some main changes such as entering new material and changing maintenance organization, cannot be performed. Two options exist when these restrictions exist and both enables any changes on the standard job:

Disable/enable revision control could initially be set on per Site. All new standard jobs will then inherit this setting, e.g. default disabled, if the site is configured to have revision control disabled for standard jobs. The inherited revision control setting from the site could also be individually changed on per standard job with a right-mouse option.

Prerequisites

A standard job should exist in the system and it should be in use i.e. connected to a PM action or work order.

Procedure

  1. Open either the Separate Standard Job window or the Route Standard Job window.
  2. Query for the standard job for which you want to create the revision (alternatively you can directly query for the revision itself).
  3. Right-click and then click Create New Revision. The Create New Revision for Standard Job dialog box opens.
  4. Enter an ID for the new revision in the New Revision field.
  5. Click OK.

In order to do any changes on a standard job you need to either create a new revision, as described above or disable revision control. This is how you disable revision control:

  1. Open the Separate Standard Job or Route Standard Job window, and query for a standard job where main information such as PM action and work order prevent you to do any major changes.
  2. Right-click on the header window and then click Disable Revision Control. This removes the check in check box Job Revision Control and you are now allowed to do any changes.
  3. Right-click again and select Enable Revision Control and it's back to it's original setting where major updates such as entering new material and changing maintenance organization are not allowed.
