Connect Tools and Facilities to Separate PM Action
Explanation
Use this activity to connect Tools and Facilities to the preventive maintenance
(PM) action. If a standard job with tools and facilities is connected to a PM action
through jobs, the tools and facilities are transferred to the PM action.
Prerequisites
- Tools and Facilities must be defined and connected to sites in
Tools and Facilities
Basic Data window.
- Operations and jobs must be defined prior to connecting the required tools
and facilities to the PM action if the tool or facility is to be connected to
either an operation or a job.
System Effects
As a result of this activity a tool and facility line will be connected to the
PM action.

Separate PM Action/Tools and Facilities
Procedure
- Open the Separate PM Action
window.
- Click the
Tools and
Facilities tab and create a new record (F5).
- Enter a tool or facility type In the Tool/Facility Type field or
enter a tool or facility ID in the Tool/Facility ID field. Use the List
of Values to select suitable values.
- In the Quantity field, specify (if known) the quantity of the tool
or facility that will be used for the PM action.
- In the Planned Hours field, specify (if known) the number of planned
hours.
- Enter a value in the Job ID field if you want to organize the tools
and facilities according to jobs. Use the List of Values to select a suitable
value.
- Enter a value in the Operations field if you want to connect the
tool and facilities line to a particular operation. Use the List of Values to
select a suitable value.
- Enter the sales part site and the sales part number if you want to invoice
the price of the tool and facilities line to a customer (only applicable to
IFS/Service Management).
- Save the information (F12).
