Approve Fault Deferral
Explanation
This activity is used to approve a fault deferral. A fault
deferral can only be activated once it has been approved. When a deferral is
approved, the authorization is set and the
calculation for the deferral date will take place.
Prerequisites
- A fault with enabled fault deferral information needs to exist for the
serial. For more information, refer to the
Enable Fault
Deferral activity.
- You need to have access to the product and model
of the part revision on which the fault is reported. For more information,
refer to the Define User
Authorization for Fault Deferrals activity.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, the deferral will be approved and the task date is calculated.

Procedure
- Open the Open Deferred Faults
window and query (F3) for the required fault number.
- The User Authorized? check box will be
selected if you (the logged-on user) have the authority to approve the fault
deferral.
- Select the row, right-click and then click
Approve. The Approved check box will be selected automatically.
