Usage

Use this window to view, update or enter information for a log event.

Log events are used for the following purposes:

  1. To report general information about a specific production unit or part of it. General information in this case could be different kinds of work-shift reports.
  2. To enter bulletins for a certain product(s). These bulletins can be viewed per production unit by using the single machine view. A bulletin could, for instance, consist of special instructions on how to execute certain jobs or procedures, e.g., instructions on how to run the production unit during a given time interval or instructions on how to handle raw material. These kinds of log events should be defined using the log event type Bulletin.
  3. Log events are also used to log markers. You can use markers as time markers in graphs to represent a specific action, e.g., rebuilding of the production unit or changes made in the process. The purpose of markers is to make it easier to judge whether this action had any positive effect on the production and is therefore extremely useful during the analysis of graphs.

Note: Issues concerning a stop or other type of error should normally be reported as a stop event.
