Connect GIS Object to IFS Business Object

Explanation

This activity is used to connect GIS object and IFS business object. A connection can be made in two different ways:

Prerequisites

A field named IFSID should exist on the GIS object.

Note! The default name for the field is IFSID, but it is possible to have a different name. The selected field name must also be entered as parameter value in Solution Manager/System Parameters window. The name of the parameter is: Name of field that uniquely identifies an object in GIS Map.

GIS object's layer should have been defined as Editable in GIS Layer Mapping window.

Layer should have been made available for the user in GIS Layer Group window.

Procedure

Create a connection in GIS Map window:

  1. Open the GIS Map window.
  2. Toggle on an editable layer in Layer panel.
  3. Click on a GIS object.
  4. Select the business object ID in Link Object dialog.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Hover with the mouse cursor over the GIS Object and a tooltip confirms that a connection exist.

Create a connection in GIS Connections window:

  1. Open GIS Connections window.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. Copy IFS ID and open a GIS Map window.
  4. Open Tools Panel and click on Enable Editing Tools checkbox.
  5. Click on GIS object to open Edit dialog.
  6. Paste the value for IFS ID in IFSID field.
  7. Unselect the Enable Editing Tools checkbox.
  8. Hover with the mouse cursor over the GIS Object and a tooltip confirms that a connection exist.
