Enter Composition by Weight

Explanation

This activity is used to enter a composition. A composition is used to describe the substances a part consists of.  When a recipe part is broken down to the substances it consists of a composition is used. To calculate the physical properties of the part you must enter the density of the part. The properties of the part and it's substances are needed to calculate the physical properties of a recipe part.

Prerequisites

• The part must exist.
• The substance must exist.

• The composition for a part will be created.
• The physical properties for the part can be calculated.

Part Catalog/Composition by Weight

Procedure

1. Open the Part window and click the Composition by Weight tab.
2. Select New.
3. Enter the density for the part.
4. Select New in table.
5. Enter the substance number either manually or by using the List of Values.
6. Enter the weight share for the substance. The summary of weight share must be 100% before saving.
7. Save when completed.
