Define Planning Structure

Explanation

Use this activity to define a planning structure to be used in master scheduling.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that an inventory part must be registered having planning method O or T.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the planning structure for the manufactured part is defined.

Procedure

1. Open the Planning Structure window and populate.
2. In the Part No list box, select the part for which you want to define a planning structure. Use the List of Values to select from available parts.
3. Click the Planning Structure tab.
4. Select New. The Line Item No column is filled in automatically.
5. In the Component Part column, specify the part buildup for the parent part. Use the List of Values to select from available parts.
6. In the Component Site column, specify to which site the component part belongs. Use the List of Values to select from available sites.
7. In the Qty per Assembly column, specify the quantity of the component part to constitute one planning part.
8. Repeat steps 4 to 7 for every component you want to register.
9. Save.
