Start Advanced Planning Board

Explanation

This activity is used to launch the Advanced Planning Board (APB). This enables you to perform various operation scheduling activities similar to the way you would work with the other Constraint Based Scheduling (CBS) clients, such as rescheduling operations by dragging them along a timeline, adjusting schedules according to shop floor reporting activities, etc. You can then save the schedule directly to the database. Unlike with the other CBS clients, however, the site you are working on is available for other users as well. Therefore the changes you make may conflict with changes made by others.

Prerequisites

The site must be set up to use the Advanced Planning Board. This is done using the Scheduling Basic Data window.

System Effects

The Advanced Planning Board will be launched, enabling you to reschedule operations on the selected site.

Procedure

  1. Open the Advanced Planning Board dialog box.
  2. In the Site field, enter the site for which you want to carry out scheduling, or select one from the List of Values.
  3. Click OK. The Advanced Planning Board will be launched.
