Enter Dangerous Goods Classification

Explanation

Use this activity to enter dangerous goods data to be used in the dangerous goods declaration. Data to be entered in this tab is regulated by international rules and standards. The three group boxes, Boat, Car/Railroad, and Air indicate specific data that should be stated, depending on the mode of transportation for the goods. For example, when the goods are sent by boat, a specific form is printed; the same applies for the other modes of transportation.

Prerequisites

The part must have been entered and saved.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the goods declaration ADR is automatically printed with the consignment, if any of the items on the consignment note are classified as dangerous goods (ADR/RID).

Copy Dangerous Goods Classification from Template

Procedure

  1. Enter or query for the part number that is considered as dangerous.
  2. Click the Dangerous Goods Classification tab.
  3. Select New.
  4. Enter values in the appropriate general fields, depending on international rules and standards.
  5. Enter the dangerous goods information of the part for the desired transportation modes.

Note: If you want to copy the dangerous goods classification information from a template, right-click and then click Copy Dangerous Goods Classification from Template. In the Copy Dangerous Goods Classification from Template dialog box, query for the template part and then click OK.

  1. In the Mode of Transportation tab, you can enter the transportation data for the dangerous goods.
  2. In the Components Responsible, you can enter the substances that are contained in the part.
  3. Save.
