Approve/Disapprove Manufacturer Part

Explanation

Use the Approved field in Part/Part Manufacturer to specify the status of the manufacturer part number connected to your company's part number. Changes to this field are logged in the manufacturer history table. The statuses are Yes, Conditional, and No. Approved status can be set to Conditional if you want to limit use of the part. The limitations should be specified in the Approved Note field.

By default, the system sets all new manufacturer part records to approved (approval status is Yes), and it will set the Approved Date and Approved By fields to the date on which the new manufacturer part record is entered. If the approval status is originally set to No or Conditional, the Approved Date and Approved By fields will be empty. If the approved status later is set to Yes, the approved date changes to the current date (the date you approved the record) and the approved user is set to the ID of the user who approved the record. If the approved status is changed to either No or Conditional, the approved user and approved date will not be updated.

Prerequisites

A manufacturer part number must exist for the part.

System Effects
