Define Criticality for Instruction

Explanation

This activity is used to define the criticality of a certain instruction (operation), i.e., how critical the operation is for the safety, cost, comfort and/or operation stability of the equipment being maintained. Observe the following example:

Assume that the operation is significantly important to the safety criticality of your part (equipment). Therefore, when you define a criticality for this operation, you should preferably select the criticality type Safety with a criticality level of Important or Very Important.

Prerequisites

To perform this activity, an instruction (operation) must be defined for the part revision.

As a result of this activity, the criticality of the instruction (operation) is defined.

Procedure

  1. Open the Instruction window and query (F3) for your part revision or for a specific instruction (operation).
  2. Click the Criticality tab and create a new record (F5).
  3. Select the required criticality type from the values displayed in the Criticality Code list.
  4. Select the criticality level for the selected criticality code from the values displayed in the Criticality Level list.
  5. Save the record (F12).
