Explanation

Use this activity to change the state of a structure alternative to Tentative or the state of the routing alternative to Tentative or Plannble. A structure or routing alternative in Tentative state is invisible to the system for allocations, demands, order operations, load, and planning and costing purposes. You can freely modify the structure or routing alternative and its components or operations at this state. The state of the structure or routing alternative can be changed to Plannable, Buildable, or Canceled. A routing alternative in Plannable state is only used for planning and costing purposes. You cannot create order operations or load for a part with its routing alternative in Plannable state. You can freely modify the routing alternative and its components or operations at this state. The state of the routing alternative can be changed to Buildable or Canceled.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that the structure or routing alternative must be in Canceled state.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system changes the state of the structure alternative to Tentative. The state of the routing alternative is changed back to either Plannable or Tentative, depending on the state before the cancellation.

Procedure

1. Display the parent part by clicking Populate (F2) or by making a selective query (F3).
2. Select the structure or routing alternative in the Alternative list box.
3. Right-click in the Product Structure, Recipe Structure, Planning, or Routing tab, then click Review.
4. Click OK to the information message. This changes the status to Tentative.
