Copy Structure Revision

Explanation

Use this activity to copy some or all of the alternates of the source structure revision to a new structure revision.

Note: This activity allows you to copy a structure to a different site, and creates any components and/or component revisions needed to accomplish the copy. For planning structures, copying structure revision to another site or a part is not allowed.

Prerequisites

This activity requires that a part structure revision must have been defined in the destination site.

System Effects

As a result of this activity, the system copies some or all of the alternates of the source structure revision to a new structure revision. No serial pointers are copied; these must be manually defined. For the new alternates that contain components, the alternate will be set to the default state, as defined in Site/Manufacturing.

Procedure for Product/Configuration/Recipe Structures

  1. In Product Structure, Recipe Structure, or Configuration Structure, select the part with the source structure revision to copy. 
  2. Right-click anywhere in header, then click Copy Structure Revision. The Copy Structure Revision dialog box opens.
  3. In the Source Revision Alternative table, select one or several alternates to copy.
  4. In the Destination Revision Part No field, click List to specify a value.
  5. Repeat step 4 for the Site and Revision No fields.
  6. In the Destination Revision Structure Type field, select the structure type from the drop down list, then enter dates in the Phase In and Phase Out fields.
  7. Click OK.

Procedure for Planning Structure

  1. In Planning Structure select the part with the source structure revision to copy.
  2. Right-click anywhere in header, then click Copy Structure Revision. The Copy Structure Revision dialog box opens.
  3. In the Destination Revision, Revision No field, click List to specify a value.
  4. Enter the dates in the Phase In and Phase Out fields.
  5. Click OK.
