Specify Authority Combinations

Explanation

Use this activity to specify authority combinations for an authority class. The combination blocks or permits users who belong to the authority class to view information on certain code strings in the various query windows and reports in IFS/General Ledger, as well as in reports created in IFS/Report Generator.

Prerequisites

Before authority combinations can be specified, the following must have been completed:

As a result of this activity, the user belonging to the authority class either is allowed or not allowed to view information on the specified code strings in the general ledger.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to enter the authority combinations:

  1. Open Authority Combinations and find the existing authorization combinations.
  2. Use the New function to enter a new authorization combination. It might be useful to start by authorizing all code parts for use by the authorization class; do this by marking all the code parts with a percent sign (%). On the second line in the window, you can then mark the illegal code parts, i.e., those to which authorization is not given. In practice, it is possible for a combination of code parts to be both legal and illegal. In such case, the illegal combination always takes precedence.
