Enter Fixed Assets Object Series
Explanation
This activity is used to define fixed asset object series IDs which are used
to automatically assign IDs to fixed asset objects entered in IFS Applications.
Once an object series ID are defined, number series to be used each year can be
defined in the Object Number Series window.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity,
- a company must have been created in IFS Applications, and
- a code part with the FA Accounting code part function must have
been defined in the Define Code String window.
System Effects
As a result of this activity, object series IDs will be available to be
connected to object groups for the purpose of automatically generating IDs for
objects belonging to those groups.

Procedure
- Open the Object Series window and create a new record.
- Enter an ID for the object series in the Series ID field and a
description in the Description field.
- Save the information.
- Select the object series you entered, right-click and then click
Object Number Series to open the Object Number Series
window.
- Enter a new record in the table.
- In the Valid From field, enter the first date from which the
number series would be valid.
- Enter the first number of the number series in the Start Value
field, and the last number of the number series in the End Value
field. The Next Value field will be automatically updated with the
start value, but you can change it if required.
- Repeat steps six and seven to enter more records depending on how you
want to use the number series (e.g. number series per accounting year,
number series per accounting period etc.).
- Save the information.
