Create Partial Depreciation 

Explanation

This activity is used when an object has to be depreciated partially during a period. For example,

• If an object is acquired during a month and it has to be depreciated from the date of acquisition.
• If an object is to be disposed during a month and the depreciation has to be calculated till the disposal date.
• If an object is to be split during a month and the depreciation has to be calculated till and from the date of split.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity,

• The object for which you want to create partial depreciation must be connected to at least one book and a depreciation method.
• The object to be included in the depreciation proposal must have Active status. 

System Effects

As a result of this activity a proposal is created. The status of the proposal will be Created.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to create a depreciation proposal partially during a period:

1. Open Object wndow, and click the Books Tab
2. Select a data line, right-click and then click Depreciate. The Depreciate Per Book dialog box will open.
3. Enter the date until which the object is to be depreciated in The Until Date field.
4. Enter a description for the proposal.
5. Click OK to close the dialog box.
