Change Status to Active

Explanation

This activity is used to change the status from Investment to Active for fixed assets which have acquisition transactions updated from IFS/General Ledger to IFS/Fixed Assets. Imported objects receive the Active status automatically when the postings are created.

Before changing the status, the following must have been completed:

As a result of this activity, the object receives the Active status and the acquisition date will be updated. Depreciation proposals can be created for objects of the Normal object type. The fixed asset status will be updated for rotable objects.

Procedure

Use the following procedure to change the status for the object to Active:

  1. Open the Object or Objects window and search for the object(s) you want to activate.
  2. Right-click and click Activate Object to open the Activate Object window.
  3. Change the acquisition date(s) if appropriate.
  4. Save the information.

Note: If any user-defined base values of the status Manually Registered exists for the object, the message “Manually registered values exist for User Defined Base Values set up to be initiated by Acquisition Value, should they be updated?" would appear. Click Yes if you want to update the base value with the actual acquisition value. Click No if you want to maintain the manually registered base value.
