Define Absence Setup for Employee Travel Requests

Explanation

This activity is used to define whether an absence type or an absence wage code should be used to generate absence for a travel request. You can also specify whether an absence record will be automatically registered when a particular travel option is changed to Selected status.

Prerequisites

In order to perform this activity, a travel request configuration ID is required to be already defined.

Procedure

  1. Open the Travel Request Configuration window.
  2. Search or populate to select the required configuration.
  3. Go to the Absence for Travel tab and create a new record.
  4. In the Absence Base field, specify whether an absence type or absence wage code should be used to register absence for travel options.
  5. If you select Absence Type as the absence base, you can specify the required absence type in the relevant field. If you select Wage Code as the absence base, you can specify the required wage class and absence wage code in the relevant fields.

    Note:
    You can only use one absence base for a travel request configuration. That is, when absence is created for a travel period using the Travel Request window, either an absence type or an absence wage code belonging to the employee's wage class will be used to register the absence. Also, note that when multiple wage classes exist, you can define one absence wage code per wage class in the absence for travel configuration.
     
  6. Save the information.
  7. If required, you can right-click and click Set Automatic Absence Generation in order to select the Automatically Create Absence Period check box for the specified absence details for travel.
