When you have two or more entities connected to each other such as with the
case of isolation orders, permit and work orders where each entity has its own
start and end dates, rescheduling can be a tedious job. The
ability to graphically view the connections between these entities as well as to
reschedule them dynamically lets you save a significant amount of time and money.
Isolation and Permit Planning aims to provide just that.
Note: The term work order within this document refers
to work orders that have a permit connected to them.
To view isolation orders and permits all you need is to create them. To view work orders you need to connect a permit to a work order. The Isolation and Permit Planning window is divided into two sections:
Frame Settings: Contains the calendar unit in which you wish to view the graph , i.e., hour, day and week; and the time period for which you want to view the records. The Frame Settings area can be hidden if you require more space to view the graph.
Graph area: The graph area displays nodes related to isolation orders, permits and connected work orders. Permits and work orders are denoted by a uniformly colored horizontal bar: whereas isolation orders are denoted by two horizontal bars, one embedded within the other, the figure below illustrates the dates shown by this horizontal bar.
An isolation order and/or a permit that does not have any dates defined is denoted with a solid circle, e.g., The color of the horizontal bar (and solid circle) denotes the status of the isolation order, permit and/or work order. Double-click on the symbol to enter the relevant start and end dates. Isolation orders where the establishment has started are represented by the following symbol: .
Rescheduling of isolation orders, permits and work orders are achieved through a drag-and-drop mechanism. To move the activity through time simply drag and drop the horizontal bar to the required timeslot. If you want to change the duration, simply resize the bar. Alternatively you can double-click on the bar and specify the required dates and times. Please observe that the restrictions applicable when handling individual isolation orders and/or permits in their respective windows are applicable here too, i.e., both isolation orders cannot be changed if the status is Establishment Started and a permit cannot be changed if it is released.
You can change the status of an isolation order and/or permit by using the available right mouse button options. Recall that during certain status changes, for example, Prepared or Preparation Approved status, you need to manually enter the signature of the employee. In Isolation and Permit Planning a manual entry is not required whereby the application will automatically assign the signature of the user that is logged on. The signatures can only be changed through the Isolation Order or Permit windows.
