Create Position Type

Explanation

Use this activity to create position types which are used for grouping positions together and to connect to object types (for equipment objects) or linear asset types (for linear assets). The positions can be used when defining Isolations and creating Isolation Orders.

Procedure

  1. Open the Work Order and PM Basic Data window and click the Position Types tab.
  2. Create a new record (F5).
  3. In the Position Type field, enter a unique code for the position type.
  4. In the Description field, enter a description of the position type.
  5. Create a new record in the position table.
  6. Enter the identity and description for the position.
  7. Repeat step 5 and 6 for all needed positions for the position type.
  8. Save the record.
