Define Multiple Fields
Explanation
This activity is used to create multiple fields for a property code which is
already defined in the
Property Field Definition window. You can
create a maximum of 15 fields for one property code.
Prerequisites
In order to perform this activity, a property code is required to be already defined with the
Multiple Fields
check box selected in the
Property Field Definition window.

Procedure
To define multiple fields for property codes;
- Open the Property Field Definition window.
- Select a property code for which you want to define multiple fields,
right-click and click Define Multiple Fields to open the
Multiple Field
Definition window. The selected property code, description and the context will be
automatically displayed in the header of the window.
- In the table, create a new row and enter the name of the
first property field in the Property Field field.
- In the Data Type field, specify whether the data type should be
Number, String or Date by selecting the appropriate
option from the list.
- In the Length field, enter the maximum number of characters that
should be allowed when entering a value in the property field.
- In the Date Format field, specify a format. This only applies
when the data type of the property field is Date.
- Enter the LoV view in the LoV View field. In the Employee/Employment/Multi
Field tab, the values in the List of Values
for this field will be taken from the specified LoV view.
- Enter a value in the Value Description Column field if you want
the description of the property field value to be displayed when the
property code is registered for an employee.
- Select the Use LoV for Validation check box if you only want values to
be registered for this property field by using the List of Values.
- Select the Mandatory check box if you want to make it mandatory
for employees to register a value in this field.
- Save the information.
- Repeat the steps to create more property fields.
To reorder property code fields;
- If you want to change the order of the property code fields which you
defined above, right-click and click Reorder Fields to open the
Reorder Fields dialog box.
- Change the field order by using the up and down arrows.
- Click OK to save the information.
