Use this activity to view a structure graphically through the Engineering Part Navigator window.
Search for a part to see its structure in the Engineering Part Navigator. Parts with underlying structures are indicated by plus signs on the folder. You can move gradually down through the structure by double-clicking a part in the structure or by selecting one or more parts and then choosing Expand from the right mouse button menu. The selected part will expand and the parts at the underlying level will be shown. In this window you can also:
- Collapse an expanded structure.
- Modify the size of a structure to make it comfortable to work with (click on the right mouse button menu option Set as Root).
- Retrieve information by marking a part in the structure. The connected objects will be displayed in Attachments if the part revision has or can have objects connected, which enables you to view/modify the part's document connections, document requirements, approval routing, connections to change requests, or change actions.
- Choose to see a part of the old structure or the whole old structure copied as a new structure in the same window or in a new Navigator window. You do that by marking the part in the old structure that you want to copy as a node at the highest level in the new structure.
- Print the structure, with or without previewing it.
- View the part revision’s connected objects or connect new objects by clicking the Attachments panel.

In the Engineering Part Navigator window,
To open a part and see the underlying structure:
Expand the part by double-clicking it or select it and click Expand from the right mouse button menu. The structure will be expand by one level.
To open up the structure further, repeat step 1 or select Expand Descendants from the right mouse button menu.
To close the underlying structure of a part :
Collapse the structure by double-clicking it or select it and click Collapse from the right mouse button menu.
To close the structure for other parts, repeat step 1. Close the entire structure by selecting the topmost part.
To change the record data for a registered part:
Select the desired part in the structure.
Select Engineering Part Revision in the menu.
In each tab, select the fields to be changed and enter the new or revised data.
Save the changes.
