Enter Develop Levels

Explanation

Use this activity to enter or maintain development levels used for revisions. This mandatory task is to be performed by a system administrator or equivalent person.

All engineering parts go through different phases from analysis/design to manufacturing/maintenance. By using the develop level, you can specify the phases you want to use. Examples of develop levels are  analysis, design, manufacturing, prototyping, or testing.

A develop level can be changed while the revision status is set to Development, and when the part revision structure is set to Active. Once the part revision level is released, the develop level is fixed and cannot be changed.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• An engineering part can be set to different develop levels.
• The part revision information can be viewed in the Engineering Part Revision/Revision window.

Procedure

To perform this activity in the Product Basic Data/Develop Levels tab, follow these steps:

1. Open the Product Basic Datawindow and click the Develop Levels tab.
2. Create a new record.
3. In the Develop Level field, enter up to 10 alphanumeric characters for the ID.
4. In the Description field, enter the description.
5. To enter detailed information about the develop level, use the Information field.
6. Save the changes.

To perform this activity in the Engineering Part Revision/Revision tab, follow these steps:

1. Open the Engineering Part Revision window and click the Revision tab.
2. Query for the revision whose develop level you wish to change.
3. Right-click on the revision to change and click Set Develop Level.
4. Save the changes.
