Create Functional Description

Explanation

When a new CO has been created, you should create a functional description of the changes to be made. The document should be registered in IFS Document Management. If the change concerns an existing engineering part revision, the document should be connected to the revision. This could be necessary, for instance, when a CO changes the product structure.

The document could consist of a list of the function names and a short description of what they do. Later on, you will describe these functions more thoroughly. See the Describe Product Functions for more details.

Prerequisites

New COs must be registered.

System Effects

If the documents created in IFS Document Management refers to an engineering part revision, a connection between document and part is created.

Procedure

  1. Decide if the CO changes the product structure and ,if so, whether there is a need for new product functions.
  2. Describe the product functions in a document.
  3. Connect the document to the engineering part revision. See Connect Object to Document for more information.
