Unreserve Serial Number

Explanation

Use this function to unreserve a serial number from a part. Unreserving serial number can only be performed on parts which have the Inventory Serial Tracking flag set (in Part). To be able to unreserve, you first must have reserved a serial number for the part. To unreserve a serial number, run the menu option Serials/Unreserve Serial. Parts which have the Inventory Serial Tracking flag set must reserve a serial number before a shop order can be created. If the reserved number no longer is needed and the serial number hasn't been used, then you can unreserve the serial number by using the menu option Serials/Unreserve Serial.

Prerequisites

• The part should exist in Part.
• Inventory Serial Tracking flag should be set.
• After Delivery Serial Tracking flag should be set.
• The part should have reserved a serial number.

System Effects

• The reserved serial number is released and can be reused by other parts.
