Connect Document to Serial

Explanation

A serial number can have a document survey, and you perform this activity to add a document in the survey.

Prerequisites

• The project item must have a serial number (see Reserve Serial Number for more information).

System Effects

• The document is inserted in the document survey for the serial.
• The document will be listed in the total document survey for the project item with the serial number, with Connected Object Type, Project Serial in Project Item/Documents.

Procedure

To connect a document to a serial in Project Item/Serial Info, follow these steps:

1. Select the project item serial to which you want to connect a document. 
2. Click the Serial Info tab. 
3. Click the Attachments on task pane.
4. Click Documents, and select New or Attach to create or attach a document.
5. Save.

To connect a document to a serial in Project Item Navigator, follow these steps:

1. In the graphical structure, select the project item serial.
2. Click the Serial Info tab, and Click the Attachments on task pane.
3. Select Documents, and select New or Attach to create or attach a document.
4. Save.
