Enter Technical Attributes

Explanation

Use this activity to enter new technical numeric or alphanumeric attributes used when creating a characteristic template. This is useful in defining common attributes or characteristics or parts. This optional task is to be performed by a system administrator or other equivalent person.

This activity has the following prerequisites:

• None.

System Effects

As a result of this activity:

• The technical attribute and its optional numeric and alphanumeric attributes can be connected to a technical class in order to create a template.
• A best-fit database search can be used in the Technical Class Template window. The system will search for a percentage fit for the attribute.

Procedure

To perform this activity, follow these steps:

1. Open the Technical Classes and Attributes window and click the Attributes tab.
2. Create a new record.
3. In the Attribute field, enter up to 15 alphanumeric characters for the ID.
4. In the Type list, click either Numeric or Alphanumeric.
5. In the Description field, enter a description.
6. Save the changes.
